Our Approach

At MC Dance Co., we are passionate about bringing the joy and artistry of dance into children’s lives. Our mission is to inspire a love for dance while building a strong foundation of technique, creativity, and self-expression. Through our diverse range of programs, we aim to provide students with the tools to grow as dancers and as confident individuals.

We offer classes in Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Acro, Flamenco, and Cheer Dance, each designed to challenge, motivate, and excite young dancers. Whether your child is drawn to the elegance of ballet, the dynamic energy of hip-hop, the precision of jazz, or the cultural richness of flamenco, we have a program to match their interests and ignite their passion.

Our instructors are experienced professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to every class. They are dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels encouraged and valued. We believe that dance is for everyone, and we celebrate the individuality and potential of each student.

At MC Dance Co., students not only learn the technical aspects of dance but also develop discipline, teamwork, and confidence that extend far beyond the studio. From first steps to stage performances, we are here to support each dancer's unique journey.

Join us at MC Dance Co. and let your child discover the transformative power of dance!

Melina Castillo

Owner & Director

Melina

Welcome to MC Dance! My name is Melina Castillo, and I am the proud owner and director of this dynamic after-school dance program. Dance has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.

My dance story began at a young age when I trained at Coconut Grove Ballet. During middle school, I immersed myself in flamenco under the guidance of Ms. Josefina Escayola, a renowned Spanish legend in Miami. These early experiences laid the foundation for my love of movement and artistry.

In high school, I joined the prestigious Gablettes and Company, a nationally recognized dance team with a 60-year history in Miami. As part of this exceptional team, I trained in kickline, hip-hop, breakdance, jazz, contemporary, pom and cheer, ballet, acrobatics, and lyrical dance. The Gablettes shaped me into a competitive, versatile dancer and taught me the discipline and passion that dance demands.

After graduating, I worked at Dance Tech Studios Miami as an assistant director and head coach for five years, teaching a variety of dance styles. During this time, I established MC Dance, an innovative after-school dance program that brings the studio experience directly to schools. My goal is to make quality dance education accessible to young dancers, fostering their growth as individuals and artists.

Beyond dance, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Science from FIU and Keiser University and worked as a clinical dietitian at the Miami VA. While I enjoyed helping others in this role, I realized my true calling was in the dance world. I returned to my passion, driven to make a difference by nurturing a new generation of dancers with beautiful technique, dedication, and creativity.

At MC Dance, I bring my diverse experiences and love for teaching to every class. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing my students grow, excel, and fall in love with the art of dance. I look forward to continuing this incredible journey and inspiring dancers of all ages to dream big and move with purpose.
